OBJECTIVE:

By an observation on the hospitality business, the common business configuration mindset always focused on Hotels, villas, or resorts.
Hostel, is a new business concept in Bali. The intention is to touch youth travelers market in Bali.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS:

The role in this project is quite different. Creativity and business sense are challenged, to define the concept and composing a business plan by design approach. In this project, as a solution to minimize the investment and getting maximum margins, The Bedbunkers hostel is built on an abandoned shop building.

Established on a 450 m2 building. The challenge is to determine space ratio by design and divided it into four critical functions. Which are Reception, Dormitory, Public Ensuite and Common Area.

Raw bricks, concrete, and vinyl flooring are combined with 33 metal bed units and built in locker on each bed. Material considerations are based on the effort for economized renovations.
