OBJECTIVE:

The design challenge was to create an integrated 5 stars resort development by incorporating Sailendra dynasty as the theme concept.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS:

Sailendra, was one of influential dynasty in Indonesia that emerged on 8th century.
The Sailendras were believed as the builders of Buddhist monuments, such as the Borobudur.
Based from Buddhist movement history in Bali. Sri Kesari Warmadewa was said to be a Buddhist king of the Sailendra Dynasty, leading a military expedition, to establishing a Mahayana Buddhist government in Bali. In 914, he left a record of his endeavour in the Belanjong pillar in Sanur in Bali. According to this inscription Warmadewa dynasty was probably the branch of Sailendras that rule Bali. Mandala, are the spiritual symbol of Buddhism and Hinduism. This has basic symmetrical forms, reflected on the basic layout concept to decorative elements. Modern design shapes also incorporated on architectural and interior design. Sought an inspiration from the temples, materials such natural stones, terracotta, open pore wood, bronze and concrete are used to create the atmospheres.
